Sample Personal Freight Schedule

The following examples are provided to help customers estimate freight charges for common personal items. Actual freight charges are determined by CTC staff based on the size, weight, and handling requirements of each item and are subject to change.

Small Freight

Typical Charge: $5–$10 per item

  • Car battery

  • Boat battery

  • Golf cart battery

  • Recliner

  • End table

  • Small boxed household items

Medium Freight

Typical Charge: $25 per item

  • Kayak

  • Canoe

  • Push lawn mower

  • Outboard engine

  • Couch

  • Dining room table

  • Rototiller

  • Snowblower

  • Refrigerator

  • Washer or dryer

  • Other household appliances

Large Freight

Typical Charge: $55 per item

  • Motor scooter

  • Motorcycle

  • Riding lawn mower (barge only)

Freight Policies

  • Freight charges apply to commercial freight and personal bulk items.

  • All freight is subject to available space and safe loading practices.

  • Customers should identify their freight to the crew before loading.

  • Customers may pay on board, at the CTC office, or by phone.

  • CTC crew are not responsible for loading heavy items, construction materials, or landscaping supplies such as mulch.

  • Oversized, unusually heavy, or difficult-to-handle items may be charged differently than the examples above.
